SCREENPLAY & STORYBOARDING LESSON #1

What Makes a Good Story  ?

  • Have an interesting main character
  • The main character must have a motive
  • There must be a 3 act-structure in the story
  • Make sure of the target audience

Meanings / Definitions :

  • Screenplay : A written works by writter for a film or a television show.
  • Storyboard : A plan sequel of the story.
  • Plagiarism : Copying or imitate other's people works without a copyright.
  • Pitch : A proposal for a film.
  • Genre : Type or category of a story.
  • Conceptualize : To form an idea of a story.
  • Logline : One sentence summary of a story.
  • Synopsis : A brief summary of a story.
  • 3 Act Structure : An important part that makes a story, consist of the Setup, the Confrontation and the Resolution.
  • Set Up, Confrontation, Resolution : Parts of the 3 Act Structure.
  • Treatment : A prose telling of a story intended to be turned into a screenplay.
  • Storyline : The plot or the event that make up of the story.
  • Motive : The purpose / aim / goal of the main character.
  • Conflict : The contravention that will happen to the main character from his motive.
